Our Story

The journey of how a personal transformation sparked a movement

Christopher, his wife Linda, and his daughter CiCi

A Personal Journey

The #JesusRevolution movement was started by Christopher Szoke, a stay-at-home father who hit rock bottom in the summer of 2024 and isolated himself from the world for 3 months. While at his lowest point mentally, spiritually, and physically, Jesus saved him despite his avoidance of Jesus ever since his spiritual awakening 3 years prior.

Christopher's journey began with a transition from atheism to belief in God three years ago, triggered by a devastating miscarriage that he and his wife Linda experienced — a tragedy for which he blamed himself. This profound loss led him down a path of seeking, ultimately finding God, though Jesus remained the last place he was looking for answers.

I never expected Jesus to be the answer to my questions. I was looking everywhere else.

The Transformation

Spiritual Awakening

2021 - Spiritual Awakening

After a personal tragedy, Christopher began questioning his atheistic worldview. Through a series of events and encounters, he came to believe in a higher power, though he kept Jesus at arm's length.

Rock Bottom

Summer 2024 - Rock Bottom

Battling depression and anxiety, Christopher isolated himself from the world for three months. During this dark period, he describes experiencing what he now recognizes as God's grace in a powerful way.

Encountering Jesus

Fall 2024 - Encountering Jesus

In an unexpected moment of clarity, Christopher finally surrendered to Jesus Christ. "It was like scales falling from my eyes," he says. "Everything I'd been resisting suddenly made perfect sense."

Kingdom Runners

January 2025 - Kingdom Runners

After experiencing physical and spiritual renewal through running and Bible study, Christopher felt called to create a community for others. Kingdom Runners was born as a way to unite believers through fitness and fellowship.

The Jesus Revolution

March 2025 - The Jesus Revolution

What began as a small running group expanded into a movement as more people were drawn to the authentic community. The #JesusRevolution was officially launched with a focus on the two greatest commandments.

Our Mission

Love God

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment."

We are committed to creating spaces where people can deepen their love for God through communal worship, Scripture study, and appreciation of His creation during our nature runs.

Love Others

"And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

We believe that authentic community creates opportunities for meaningful connection and service to others. Our movement actively looks for ways to support local needs and build bridges between different Christian communities.

Looking Forward

The #JesusRevolution movement is growing organically across Connecticut, with plans to expand to neighboring states in the coming years. We believe that by focusing on the two greatest commandments and creating authentic Christian community, we can be a part of bringing God's kingdom to earth.

Christopher and his wife Linda remain committed to the vision of a movement that unites Christians across denominational lines through fitness, fellowship, and faith in Jesus Christ.
